  1. How to make 800 x 600 game become full screen on laptop

I have a number of games that run in an 800 x 600 resolution. I have wide screen monitors on my PC and they scale perfectly to become full screen on my PC's but on my laptop the games appear in a borderless window. The window takes up approx 3/4 of the screen but it's not full screen. Is there a setting I can use to make the window full screen? and how do I do this?

My laptop is a HP Envy 2017 (i5-7500u model)
OS is Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)
    Games are typically java games

    Many thanks for any help

    Mike

  2. Playing game's on the built-in screen issue.

Hello, i'm able to change the screen resolution to 800 x 600 when i have the monitor hooked up to my laptop, however once i disconnect my monitor it no longer gives me the option under the advanced display menu, is there a way of fixing that? As that would
fix all of my games that REQUIRE this resolution to work (Otherwise when i try to go fullscreen, or load the game at all, it crashes immediately, due to an unsupported resolution, as they are both old games). As for the games, they aren't well known. they
are called Yume 2kki and Mapleroyals. the games themselfs don't have an in-game menu, as they don't support it. i run both of them on compatibility mode for windows 7, and it works fine (with the 800 x 600 resolution).

Change your desktop resolution or change the settings on the game to match the native resolution that it should be set at.

  5. I tried that. The laptop has an option of 800x600 but the resolution looks higher than that. Anyway, the game still plays in roughly 3/4 of the available screen space. I tried all the other resolutions available but nothing seems to alter this. Is there an option like "stretch to screen" or "no, I really do want 800x600 full screen"?

    Thank you for your suggestion.

Go in to the Intel HD Graphics Control Panel:
    Desktop > Graphics Properties...
    > Display > General Settings > Basic
    Resolution > Scaling.
If you want full screen then it will be horizontally stretched because of the differing aspect ratios.
An internal Laptop screen may not have all the options of an external screen.

Setup two different profiles in your settings. One for gaming and one for regular use. There are third party TRS programs that you can use to change your settings without having to remember to go in and do that. It is nice when you do not cover the whole screen, especially if you are waiting on a email reply.
