Windows 10: How to make a system recovery disk on a SD-card

Yes, that was my idea. Is it possible? Or too convoluted?

I removed most Lenovo apps after upgrading due to lack of space. Doesn't Windows have a native way to make recovery disks?

 

Using tablet now, if so open up Disk Management and under that drive do you see this factory partition listed under C:
Right click the start menu and select it there,Disk Management

 

If still did not use Disk Cleanup, and did not do a reset your old OS is still there, but if it's been 30 days since, bound to Win 10 unless made a system image or had install media and if partition will work.

 

All things to think of before you went ahead an upgraded, needed to be backed up, those discs should of been made on day 1 of buying the tablet.

 

My harddisk (disc 0) is 29 GB, partitioned in four:
260 MB to EFI system partition
21.52 GB to drive C:
450 MB to recovery partition
6.78 GB to recovery partition

All except C: show 0% usage (100% free space), including the recovery partitions. No partition has any name.

I understand. My intention would be to reset to Windows 10 if things went wrong, not to reset to factory standards.

Or so it seems from Disk Management but they're not empty.
If the OEM partition contains the W8.1 factory recovery and the restore utilities have been uninstalled then it is rendered useless anyhow.

What i had mentioned to, is utility there still to even do this.

 

Use Disk part to show you similar from admin command prompt. Type Diskpart then list disk, then select disk 0, then list partition

 

How long have you had win 10 on this tablet ?

 

I get these five partitions:
1: System, 260 MB
2: Reserved, 128 MB
3: Primary, 21 GB
4: Recovery, 450 MB
5: Recovery, 6945 MB

I have had Windows 10 for 1½ month or so,ybe a bit more.

If I reinstall the Lenovo firmware from their website, is there a chance that it might find the recovery partition? Not that I need windows 8 at this point though, I would rather revert back to windows 10 instead if given the option.

 

Windows 10 has " create a USB recovery drive" to boot from to troubleshoot issues when system will not start. Since Windows 8 can reset system by cleanly installing Windows without saving settings and apps or save all settings and apps. No recovery discs. Can make a disc or even put this ISO to a thumb drive for clean reinstall or for similar to recovery drive mentioned before.

30 days meaning from old OS backup on system your bound to windows 10 now, unless you had original media made. Firmware not going to help. Your best bet at this point is a clean install get you back more drive space. Download the proper ISO from the link and put it on a USB flash drive. Need to do this by making it bootable.

This should allow TS to gain some considerable amount of space I'd hope:

Run from command prompt (admin) :

%SystemRoot%\System32\Cmd.exe /c Cleanmgr /sageset:65535 & Cleanmgr /sagerun:65535

Can do this yes, since past 30 days now since upgrade, but still leaves the factory recovery partition which may seem useless. Unless someone else knows a way to do this,make discs from it or extract it and do this, sounds doubtful to me.

Yeah, sure. He can abandon that partition or back it up if TS had usable external media. A must with a tablet coming with such a small drive IMHO.
