Windows 10: How to make msconfig the default?

Hello, I changed the settings in msconfig. I enabled all CPU cores and all of my games started to lag heavily. Initially everything was fine, but now that I've done it, everything is running poorly. I've already completely reset my computer, but it didn't help. How can I fix this?

MSCONFIG defaults to selective startup

This is a new computer. Has updated since installation. MSCONFIG can't stay set at "normal" startup. Continually defaults to "selective". Have tried suggested Microsoft fix. Does not work. Any suggestions?

 

Lost default photo viewer after profile rebuild

Thanks Brink. I've tried those steps before i started searching Google. After the profile rebuild i don't have the Photo app listed to choose to make it default in either the system settings for default apps or the Open With option.

I can't even find it doing a search. Seems to have been removed somehow with the profile rebuild, which doesn't make sense.

Might be helpful to list what i've done I've done the open with check, the choose default program in the system menu, tried that in device manager default programs also. I've checked the programs and features Turn windows features on/off and it's not listed there (never thought it was but that was a suggestion), searched the MS Store, it's not listed there either.

I don't like playing in the registry unless i have defined steps and haven't found anything for this yet, just the Win7 version like in my OP.

You may follow the steps to set MSconfig to default.

1.Press Windows key + X key. And select Run.

2. Type msconfig in the Run box and hit Enter.

3. On the Services tab of the
System Configuration dialog box, tap or click to select the
Hide all Microsoft services check box, and then tap or click Enable all.

4. On the Startup tab of the
System Configuration dialog box, tap or click Open Task Manager.

5. On the Startup tab in Task Manager, for each startup item, select the item and then click
Enable.

6. Close Task Manager.

7. On the Startup tab of the
System Configuration dialog box, tap or click OK, and then restart the computer.
