How to make website fonts bold and easier to read

My 80 year old eyes don't do the job they used to do. I like to go onto my computer in the bedroom after waking, and though the screen it is attached to across the room is a 55" TV, I have difficulty reading many webpages because the fonts, while large enough, are not bold enough for me to read. I do not wish to increase the size of the fonts, but wish to make them more readable by increasing the thickness and blackness of the letters shown in the websites. I tried to find a way to increase the webpage contrast, hoping that would help, but could find nothing in Windows and the TV settings did

    :)

  2. making fonts bold therefore easier to read

    Hello

I have been reading some of the comments about later editions of Windows 10 home, having "improvements" which effectively make life harder for some users, myself included.

I have a mild visual impairment and need to have fonts in BOLD for ease of reading/eyesight on most websites. I see this (pun intended) as an accessibility issue, and I am sure I am not alone in making this request.

Are there any options besides enlarging the font size, to make all fonts seen in
    BOLD?

And does Mircosoft really care about accessibility issues for those who have mild/moderate issues?

    warm regards

    Maureen

Adjust Clear Type <- ask Cortana

Webpages in their style scripts mostly control the font-face of the page.

Most default fonts that are not dictated by the web page author seems to be Times New Roman usually and you might try changing 'Times New Roman' to read bold or select a different font. Settings > Personalization > Fonts / Times New Roman

making fonts bold therefore easier to read

    Hello Mike P

Many thanks for your prompt reply to my request for assistance with bolding
    all type on my computer,

Windows 10 home is my OS, with Chrome browser preferred.

    1. I cannot find Cortana on this new computer.

    2. I did find settings - personalization - fonts.

2.1 I chose a new bold font, but could not find where to enable it!

So, no changes took place after I restarted my computer.

So, where does one enable a new font from the many to chose from?

It is a particular problem with websites to see wit the fashionable "feint" font.

    Many thanks again, in advance.

    warm regards

    Maureenc

PS Given the many thousands of people worldwide, one would have thought Microsoft would be more responsive to accessibility issues of this nature. We, the BB generation are a pretty big consumer group these days!
