Windows 10: How to make windows bootable again on original hard drive, and which boot config to use MBR...

Hi all. I've read posts and instructions on recreating the system partition using bootable media, and am trying to follow to fix issues with the original OS on the original hard drive. It's possible it's very wrecked, as I've tried many things including some bootsec and bootrec commands. I'd like to avoid wiping the entries for the current OS, which is on a different disk, in VHD files. I tried to dual boot with andriod-x86 and windows 10. But messed up with something and windows 10 no longer boot.

I think it is the corrupted MBR that need to be fixed. I can no longer boot into recovery too.

My laptop does not have a DVD driver nor I have the windows installation media. I upgraded my hard drive to SSD a while ago, therefore, I have the bootable hard drive (HDD) comes with the laptop, which have the windows 8.1.

Is it possible to boot from the HDD and fix the MBR on the SDD. If so, how? I can google how to fix, but I am not sure whether I should mount the SDD after externally boot from HDD via usb.

I understand the inconvenience you are facing. Let me help you in resolving the issue.

A boot sector is a part of hard disk or any storage device which contains machine code. A Boot Sector loads the machine code stored in the storage device.
Master Boot record is a type of boot sector. Whenever a computer boots, the master Boot record executes. To repair MBR follow the below simple troubleshooting steps and check if this helps in resolving the issue. Follow the below
methods.

Method 1: I would suggest you to remove external hard drive except mouse and keyboard, now try restarting the computer and check if this helps.

If the issue still persist, try the below method.

Method 2: I would suggest you to perform automatic repair using Command Prompt under Advance Options using media creation tool.

  After you boot your computer using Windows 10 DVD or System Repair Disc, a black screen appears with gray text "Press any key to boot from CD or DVD". Press any key.

  Select Troubleshoot from Choose an option screen.

  Click Advanced options in Troubleshoot screen.

Multi-bootable USB

Hey guys from TPU, couldn't find any specific thread pertaining to the question asked on title. As mentioned, I'm trying to create a bootable USB, but with many specifics boots available.

I've been trying to create one with multiple boot device including one that enables me to run Windows 10 directly on the USB Thumb Drive but to no avail.

The list of bootable images i'm trying to create are

1. Windows 10 (A full OS running from thumb drive)
2. Windows 10 ISO (Bootable disk image for fresh install)
3. MemTest86+

Have tried YUMI or UUI from the website USB PenDrive Linux but as this is my first time, i don't know how am i screwing up or am doing it right.. Anyone got a rough idea on a step by step guide? Thanks!
