Windows 10: How to Manage Favourites in Edge

Hi All

I have a W10 laptop, W10 desktop, an iPad and an iPhone.
I've disabled web browser setting synchronisation as this doesn't apply to my non-MS devices.
I'm using iCloud for Windows 4.1 and this does a great job of synching IE bookmarks to Safari (if I use the aforementioned sync as well then I get duplication, unsurprisingly).
And to share favourites between Edge and IE11 I've re-directed my personal favourites folder to C:\Users\U001\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.MicrosoftEdge_8wekyb3d8bbwe\AC\MicrosoftEdge\User\Def ault\Favorites.
So now IE11 and Safari are all working just fine.
But the contents of the folder do not show up in Edge.
If I manually add a new favourite to Edge then this does show up and, indeed, is quickly visible on Safari and in IE11.
I've tried the Import function in Edge - it says it has worked, but nothing shows up.
Anyone know why and how to force Edge to display the contents of the folder in which its favourites are stored?

Moving between favourites in Edge

Sorry, but this doesn't really answer my question. I had no problems importing my favourites (can't remember if from Outlook or BT Mail now) and I don't have a problem with them being listed in Edge in simple A-Z alphabetical order.

I'll try and restate my question: with the Favourites list in IE, if I want to go to a Favourite starting with say letter H I only need to type H for the cursor to move to the first Favourite starting with letter H. Dead simple and it saves a lot of time.
Is there a similar shortcut with Edge favourites, please? If not, could MS please add one?

 

Safari bookmarks syncd with Edge

I have a Favourites folder under my User account but it applies to IE not Edge. I have no idea where the Edge Favourites are and, more importantly they are not in sync. I also have no idea how to sort or arrange the Favourites in Edge.
