Windows 10: How to manually adjust Lifecam Studio effects?!

Howdy,


I recently got a Lifecam Studio USB webcam - loving it thus far.


However, it comes with a bunch of auto features - including auto focus which is great! but the one that's a problem is how it automatically balances the brightness ie in a dark video it will make it lighter and vice versa.


The autofocus works well but the brightness isn't working the best. I'm wondering how to manually adjust this, ie set a constant level of brightness that the camera adds to the video? Otherwise, I'd be happy to disable this auto feature.

Windows 10 Lifecam Studio

Well, I can bring up the lifecam studio software, and adjust the camera there, but the lifecam dashboard never comes up when I'm using the lifecam with other programs. But this is at least a step in the right direction.

I'm going to try installing the one for 8 (after uninstalling this one) and restarting to see whether I can get the dashboard back again.

The Microsoft LifeCam Studio enables you to control most of the settings of your webcam. However, while the camera is on, the only controls are
Exposure and Timer, The webcam adjusts its focus automatically by default, but if you opt to change the settings, you can take control of the device and adjust it manually.

To do that, follow these easy steps:

• Launch the Microsoft LifeCam software and click the arrow at the right of the LifeCam window to open the dashboard.
• Click the "Gear" icon to switch to the Settings tab and disable "Truecolor" by clearing its check box.
• Click the "Properties" button to view the webcam's advanced settings.
• Click the "Camera Control" tab, deselect the "Auto" option next to "Focus" and click "Apply."
• Move the "Focus" slider to change the focus of your LifeCam manually. Moving the slider to the right makes the camera focus on objects that are closer to its lens, while moving the slider to the left forces the camera to focus on objects that are farther
  away.
• Click "OK" to apply the new settings and close the Properties window.

Note that the focus controls are only available on some LifeCam models.

If I understood you right, you are facing issues installing LifeCam studio. I can help you with it.

First, I would suggest you to run the hardware troubleshooter and check.

Try these steps to run the troubleshooter:

• Type troubleshooting in the search bar.
  
• Click view all in the left panel.
• Select ‘Hardware and devices' and follow the on-screen instructions.
  

let’s update the Firmware and check if it makes any difference.

If the issue persists, please uninstall the Microsoft LifeCam application from the control panel and install the fresh version.

Programs,

Uninstall a Program.

3. When you find the program
Microsoft LifeCam, click it and Click Uninstall.

4. Follow the on screen instructions.
