Windows 10: How to permenantly remove Adobe Flash Player ?

Looks like the uninstall didn't work? Run the official uninstaller:

Close browsers and any other programs that use flash then right click the uninstaller and run as administrator.

Reboot when finished.

Then check for and delete any folders or files found in these locations:

C:\Windows\system32\Macromed\Flash
C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash
%appdata%\Adobe\Flash Player
%appdata%\Macromedia\Flash Player

Copy and paste each line into the run dialog box [WINKEY+R]

Or navigate to

C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed

Delete the folder named Flash

%appdata%\Adobe\

Delete the folder named Flash Player

%appdata%\Macromedia\

Delete the folder named Flash Player

 

Just for the hell of it I'm going to uninstall it myself and see what happens.

Well if you uninstalled via Control Panel add/ reove programs it probably didn't work.

I've just run the dedicated removal tool from Adobe (run as administrator) and it didn't fully uninstall flash player. See the following:

These registry changes straight away after runnng dedicated uninstaller.




These leftovers after a reboot.





Ran this script. Note there is no SysWOW64 directory on my 32bit machine but I left the entries for anyone running 64bit.





Another reboot is required to force delete leftovers.





After the reboot it's gone including the updater and update service.





So the moral of the story is that it's not guranteed to be removed unless you check for leftovers.

 

If you mean the Contol Panel Applets are not the same - you get the standard windows ones then others that might depend upon hardware configuration and additional third party software that might install a Control Panel Applet.
