    wma files not playing anymore with WMP version 12

    I've done the trouble shooting before and did it again just now and again no problem there.

    I've also done using headphones before and did it again just now and again wma files NOT playing .

    I guess I didn't myself clear. WMA files are NOT playing. MP3 files are OK. MP3 files are playing properly.

    Ok, so perhaps Creative's app was depending on some WMP DLL or system codec to decode WMAs, but that's missing or modified somehow in Win10 and so WMA support isn't possible any longer until Creative updates its app.

    FWIW there are other apps people can use to play WMAs if they don't like WMP (such as Winamp that you use but also many more). Also, converting from a regular WMA to MP3
    will result in quality loss. The only way to prevent quality loss would be if you have

    WMA Lossless     files and you convert to another lossless format such as FLAC or APE or whatever. Regular WMAs are lossy, and so is the MP3 format.

    Hi Wilfredo - My WMP is definitely working but not for WMA files. I'll try the codecs installation and let you know if it solves the problem.

    It's very disappointing that Microsoft hasn't addressed and corrected this problem when it has been on this Microsoft "Community" as far I've looked into the threads since 2003!!!

    Maybe it is just for home users but not for business users??? I just had this windows10 in my personal computer last April 2016 and I've been using at my office WMP for the past 17 years and there's no problem there.
