    How to read this.... dism


    Downloaded the iso file from MCT.
    (*** adding : the iso is for Windows 10 Home )

    I'd like someone to educate me how to read this dism /Get-WimInfo /WimFile:F:\sources\install.esd /index:1

    Question :
    What is......... Windows 10 S ?

    Settings App crashes few seconds after opening.

    The DISM step includes how to do this. Please read it all.

    I'd go ahead and skip to the Repair Upgrade with latest media to save time.

    DISM is only needed if SFC cannot repair System files.

    I tried your Method 1 to fix it which said changes have been made to my computer & to try & update again which failed.. again & the same message above came up again. My laptop is secure as I run Norton 360, so what should I do next to try & fix this problem?
    My laptop is a Toshiba satellite L650.

    No. That ISO is for ALL editions of Windows 10. Home is just one that it contains....

    Use this instead (leaving out the 'index' bit). It will list all the editions the .esd contains, along with their index numbers.
    dism /Get-WimInfo /WimFile:F:\sources\install.esd
