  3. Bottom taskbar not working in Windows 10.....Please help.

thanks but it has already mysteriously corrected itself, but also changed my desktop layout, all without a reboot. Accidentally hitting a control key while typing can do just about anything, and there is no "undo" feature to repair the ensuing chaos

How to reboot Dell Desktop After Accidentally Changing Firmware

What do you mean by firmware?
What were you trying to change?
What was happening that you needed to make changes?
    What link were you following?
    Are you files backed up?
    Had you created an image?

When you power on now what do you see?
Do you see the windows icon?
Do you see a computer manufacturers icon?
Are you able to boot to wall paper or lock screen?

    1) find a flash drive that you can format
    2) create a bootable windows 10 iso:
    Download Windows 10
