How to reconnect my file history drive?

I need help to reconnect my file history drive, there is nothing wrong with the drive, it has lots of memory available. The problem with the drive is that the owner is not so smart sometimes and actually click the disconnect button in file history just to see what it did, yes stupid I know, but now the problem is that i have looked everywhere for help on reconnecting my drive and have not found what im looking for. Everything tells me there is something wrong or not enough memory available but not in my case. This time it is actually all users fault and I disconnected the hard drive myself. Please help me to reconnect my drive so i can start backing up my files again. It has been this way for months now. Thank you for your time and would appreciate help.

    Reconnect your File History Drive

    Hi Amma,

You'll see the message Reconnect your File History drive if you have backed up your files using an external hard drive. However, you have the option not to reconnect your external hard drive if you do not want to use it as your back drive.

If you don't want to see the message again, please follow the steps below:

    • Right-click on the Start menu.
    • Select Control Panel.
    • Go to System and Security.
    • Click on File History.
    • Select Turn Off.

If you want to back up your files again, you can simply reconnect the said hard drive and follow the steps provided on this
    link.

Hope this information helps you. In case you need further assistance, don't hesitate to post back.

    Hello.

When your history drive has been disconnect for too long then you will see the message. If you are backing up to a external drive(USB), make sure it connected to your system. If you are backing up to a network location, then go to the setting:
Setting> Update security> Backup and reselect the network.

After reconnected, wait for the next schedule backup and you can start a backup manually using this setting:

    Setting > update security>Backup > More option> Backup now.
