Windows 10: How to recover deleted files?

I have deleted some of my important files by mistake. It is not there in recycle bin as it was cleared by my friend . What I do now? Is there any way to recover it?

I am using the Windows Mail in Windows 10. I have deleted some email from the deleted items folder which I want to recover. I am not proficient in the use of computers except for doing basic operations. I would appreciate some help in suggesting in a
non technical way how to recover my deleted email from the deleted items folder.

With regard to your concern, if you can't find an item in the
deleted folder, it's probably been permanently deleted from your mailbox and can't be recovered.

Hi, first thing is as soon as the files are deleted from the recycle bin their disk space is available to be overwritten. Therefore they may be recoverable, corrupted or unrecoverable.

You can try a program such as Recuva (free)- there are many.
Do not install it on the drive or partition from which you are trying to recover files.

Such programs usually offer two levels of scanning- deep scanning is slow, so specify what to scan carefully.

Obvious lesson: back up.

There are many backup programs at a file level, and then there's the strongly recommended approach of disk imaging.

Disk imaging even allows you to restore Windows if it is unbootable as it was when the image was created- and also to a new hard disk. E.g. Macrium Reflect (free) + its boot medium + external storage.

Images also act as a full backup- you can extract files too.
