Windows 10: How to recover my Office 2007 Apps.

Hi, I recently upgraded to Windows 10. I had trouble with my laptop and had to perform a reset. Now all my Office 2007 apps including Word, Excel and Powerpoint show up only as shortcuts but cannot launch. I have quite a few files that I need and they seem to all indicate they are a Office Open XML docs. I have the product key on the back of my laptop but I can't seem to find a thread in support that shows me how to restore. When I click on the links they indicate they are no longer valid. Please help. I have very important files that I need to access.

New Updates for Office 2007???


Ok found the problem, I had installed a free app from the store, called Excel viewer, its a program to allow you to view and print Excel spread sheets, from Microsoft. Because I installed that Excel view app, it made windows 10 think I had Office 2007 installed, and was going to install 7 updates for Microsoft Office 2007 on my hard drive!!!! I deleted the app, removed any file left over pointing to Excel, rebooted, now the updates for office 2007 are no longer listed as pending. This has to be a bug, Windows 10 should have known I did not have office 2007 installed, but just a excel viewer, a FREE app. Gezzzz That one little app would have windows update install 100+ megs of updates for office 2007. most likely a lot more than 100 mgs.....

all programs.

I would suggest you to follow the below steps and check if it helps.

• Click on Start > All apps, and scroll to the Microsoft Office product group.
• To open Office applications faster, pin them to your Start screen or the taskbar on your desktop. Right-click each application’s name and choose either
  Pin to Start or Pin to Taskbar.
