Windows 10: How to recreate user profile as good as possible - on current or fresh install?

So, I am recently having issues with my Windows 10. Aside from some very random lock-ups, I these 3 things let me to believe I need to make something:

1. Very slow login.
2. Unable to change my lock screen/sign-in image
3. No working Quick Access
4. This particular copy has moved from HDD->Sata SSD->m.2 SSD and Intel->AMD

I have 2 options - either recreate my profile on the same installation or recreate it on fresh install. The question is - how to recreate it as close as possible. Like:

1. Start menu icons
2. Desktop settings (icons, background, colors)
3. Most importantly - user dependant app settings (this might be harder on fresh install, I know).

There are guides on the internet, but they are mostly when the profile is obviously corrupted and not able to log in. I don't have this issue - my profile is just "somehow" corrupted.



Any advices how to do this as painless as possible?

Struggling to recreate corrupted profile

Somehow i have done something horrible with my profile so wanted to create a new one. I tried a few system restores but they all have the same issue. My account is linked to microsoft account so trying to avoid just deleting the account and starting again. i have read some posts suggesting creating a test account, login under that then rename the current profile as .old. then restart and login should create anew profile. i can then copy across any bits of the old profile I'm confident haven't been corrupted.

However I cannot seem to rename my current profile as get the attached error message.






Any suggestions how i move forward would be appreciated

Recreate or fix user account

I appreciate you for providing details about the issue and your efforts towards resolving it. We will assist you to resolve this issue.

Since you have mentioned that you had already backed up the file on Drop box and Crashplan, I suggest you to access the respective backplan websites and try to retrieve the user files which are missing. Once you retrieve the files, I suggest you to follow
the steps below and check if it helps.

a. Log in to a new user profile which was created.

b. Open Documents folder.

c. Click on View, then Click on Options and then select Change Folder and search options.

1.Click
Show hidden files, folders, and drives.

2. Clear the
Hide protected operating system filescheck
box, click Yesto confirm, and
then click OK

3. Locate the C:\Users\Old_Username folder, where C is the drive that Windows is installed on, and Old_Username is the name of the profile you want to copy files from.

4. Select all of the files and folders in this folder, except the following files:

• • Ntuser.dat
  • Ntuser.dat.log
  • Ntuser.ini

5. Click the
Editmenu, and then click
Copy.
If you don't see the
Edit
menu, press Alt.

6. Locate the C:\Users\New_Username folder, where C is the drive that Windows is installed on, and New_Username is the name of the new user profile you created.

7. Click the
Editmenu, and then click
Paste.
If you don't see the
Editmenu, press Alt.

8. Log off, and then log back on as the new user.

9. If you have e-mail messages in an e-mail program, you must import your e-mail messages and addresses to the new user profile before you delete the old profile. If everything
is working properly, you can delete the old profile.

Recreate user profile in Windows 10 after major update

Hi all,

Please help us with one info. How can we recreate a user profile

We try to recreate using method ( rename SIP and rename user folder) but after login account we miss EDGE and Stick Notes, i think is all from app from, C:\Users\[account]\AppData\Local\Packages

All this happen after installing Windows Creators Update

Is there a new way to create user profile
