    The install of windows doesn't have any bearing on the BIOS... Two different animals...

    Although how windows is installed can trigger a BIOS setting change...

    The type of drive for instance...

    I was thinking of restoring default settings in the BIOS by entering it with F2, or whatever the key, at the HP screen... Or possibly reinstalling the BIOS...

    I tried checking on your machine... Hewlett-Packard 500-143ea as you posted, but that model is not listed... there is a 141, but nothing for 143... A typo maybe ?

    HEWLETT PACKARD and Windows Updates

    With certain Windows 10 Updates, a restart or restarts are required at some point or points through the installation process.
    Often, during installation of these updates, my screen goes blank (not BLACK), and then nothing further happens.
    At this point I am guessing that a proper shutdown and restart is not going to happen, so I do a hard restart, sometimes this works, sometimes not.
    So my question is - - - Why does my HP Laptop not do a proper restart during these required updates?

    Is anyone from HEWLETT PACKARD monotoring this site?
    Does anyone from HEWLETT PACKARD have a fix for this? Does anyone from HEWLETT PACKARD care?
    I guess that is four questions I have asked!

    Currently I have Microsoft Windows 10 Version 1709 (OS Build 16299.192)

    on an HP G62-220CA Notebook

    How to reinstall windows 10 using bios hewlett packard bios

    access BIOS settings in Win 10

    I have an 8-year old computer running Win 10. I need to access the BIOS settings. It used to be the holding down the F2 key during startup would bring up the BIOS screen in Windows computers. But this no longer works. A web article listed a complicated
    series of steps leading to a reboot . . . but still no access to BIOS. Any suggestions?
