  1. How to remove non-functional Office 2016 "Store App" icons in Start?

    Greetings, TenForums.

Could I trouble you for some assistance with a spontaneous problem that has occurred on my Win10 (v1709) system with regard to MS Office (2016, 365 exe version)? Any help would sure be appreciated!

The Problem: I have had Office 2016 365 installed for a few months, and all worked as expected, until a couple of days ago, I noticed duplicate shortcuts to each Office program in the Start menu. One of those shortcuts is a normal *.lnk, leading to the relevant program. The other is not a shortcut, but a Store App icon (as seen from the context menu options, or lack thereof - e.g. no "Open file location", but "Rate and Review" is available). The Store App icon for each Office program does not work, as I don't have the Store version installed, having got rid of a Store-based demo version that came with my PC months ago; the only thing I forgot to get rid of was the "My Office" app (which has sat there and been useless for ages).

What I've tried: Not only are the Store Office App icons non-functional duplicates, but I cannot get rid of them. Right-click-->Uninstall does nothing, resetting the Store does nothing, deleting the Start menu icon cache does nothing, CCleaner does nothing. I tried uninstalling the "My Office" app, in case that had something to do with it (did nothing). I'm at the end of my tether, and have no idea how to get rid of the annoying icons. I asked on a few subReddits, but got no better recommendations than "Reinstall Windows" (new computer, clean, everything else works, and it's taken me months to get it "set up" as I like it).

Do any of you knowledgeable people have any ideas?

    :)

  2. Can't remove pinned office applications

My laptop is a Dell Precision 7510, running Microsoft Windows 10 Enterprice 64bit (10.0.15063 Build 15063) and Microsoft Office 365 ProPlus (1701 Build 7766.2092).

My problem is, that beside some useful apps on my taskbar, office has also pinned Word, Excel and PowerPoint. I would like to remove these 3 pinned apps. When unpinning them, they actually disappear, but after next restart (or restart of explorer.exe) they reaper as if nothing had happened.

I have tried following this "guide":
Can't unpin a program from the taskbar

I have seen the above suggestion posted on several sites, but unfortunately it doesn't help in my case.

When executing the script (or preforming the steps manually) all is removed, but after explorer.exe restart below icons always reaper:

    • File Explorer
    • Internet Explorer
    • Outlook 2016
    • PowerPoint 2016
    • Word 2016
    • Excel 2016

Other apps pinned at the time is removed as intended.

Does anyone have a suggestion to how I can remove these unwanted office apps from my taskbar? And why do above list or apps reapear after deleting them from both the %APPDATA% folder and REGEDIT?

    Thanks in advance.

"Excel 2016" App icon still in app list after uninstalling

I have a laptop with a MS office 2016 preinstalled, I have been using its free trial for a month, now the trial period is over and I have decided to uninstall it. Since MS office 2016 isnt in the control panel's list, what i did is to uninstall it manually
by right clicking it on each app on the start menu and uninstalling, my concern is, I already uninstalled all the office apps (word, powerpoint, outlook, one note, one drive, publisher, access) but the excel 2016 has not removed from the applist eventhough
I already uninstalled it. I tried to use the official office uninstaller from Microsoft but still it cannot remove the Excel 2016 app icon, Is there a way on how can i remove that icon, please help

    Hi,

Failure to remove the Office icons on your start menu may indicate a possible corrupted registry. To isolate your concern, we'd like to ask the following:

    • Have you made any recent changes on your device prior to your concern?
