  1. How to removethe Sign in with password option in Windows 10

I am posting this under "Ease of Access". Maybe it should be "Not Easy to Access Anymore".

Four days into a new computer, this one running Windows 10, ver 1909, bld 18363.720. Hoping to have some of the same features as Win XP praise rings loud and Win 7 more praise, I have tried in vain to find someone who can help me DISABLE/REMOVE the Windows Logon PIN permanently.

In previous versions, user was given a choice of a PIN or NONE, ie, a simple "ENTER" was sufficient to continue booting up.

As far as security, my laptop stays home. My wife and I are the only souls in the house. We live in a gated community. We have VPN and TOR encrypted and removable drives and flash drives and notebooks we keep in a couple of languages using abbreviations and joke-words that are personal to us and etc and etc.

When Microsoft changes the layout of screens, adding buttons, deleting buttons, changing the functions of buttons, changing and deleting functions, it makes it very difficult for the MPVs and other computer geeks to help. Frustrating. I have often wondered just how much Microsoft designers and programmers are overruled when trying to incorporate the results produced by customer testing and other Beta activity.

Just to reiterate-I want to be able press "Enter" when the Windows logon pin/password/? is asked for. Just like with Win XP and Win 7. In other words, how do I DISABLE/REMOVE the Windows Logon PIN/password permanently?

The How to Remove Sign-in PIN on Windows 10 YouTube video posted 22 Sept 2015 is QUITE different from the "same" screen in my Windows 10 screen. Do I have a counterfeit version, purchased new from Dell Computer? Am I in an alternated universe. Can anyone help?

    :)

  2. Password to sign in

    Hi Rosa,

We appreciate your interest in Windows 10.

Before proceeding, we need to know whether you are using Microsoft/Local account to sign in to Windows 10.

If you are using Microsoft account to login to Windows 10, there is no option to disable the password and sign in to Windows 10 directly without entering password.

    Step 1:

If you are using Local account to login to Windows 10, you can disable the password and sign in to Windows 10 directly without entering password. Follow the below steps if you use Local account.

    • Press Windows + I keys to open
      settings
      menu.

    • Click on Accounts.

    • Click on Sign in options.

    • Click on Change under Change your account password.

    • Enter your current password and leave the other two files for new password as empty and close the windows by clicking on
      OK button.

    • Sign out and try to sign in again and check.
    Step 2:

You may also create the 4 digit PIN which will reduce your time to enter full password. Follow the below steps.

    • Press Windows + I keys to open
      settings
      menu.

    • Click on Accounts.

    • Click on Sign in options.

    • Click on Add under PIN.

    • Follow the onscreen instructions to create Pin.
