Windows 10: How to restore internet access blocked by Cisco AnyConnect VPN Client?

I'm doing home office on my own PC, using Cisco AnyConnect to connect to corporation network. Recently the corporation network is a bit unstable, sometimes causing Cisco AnyConnect to hang on "connecting" indefinitely. If this happens, Cisco AnyConnect client would nontheless block non-VPN connection, causing my PC to be blocked off from internet completely. Even killing all the VPN related process won't lift the block and the VPN client will also be blocked from connection after restarting. In this case I must close all programs and restart my PC, which is really annoying.

Is there a way to manually lift the block imposed by VPN client, like from firewall settings in control panel? My PC is running on Windows 10 1809 LTSC (17763.6197).

Cisco AnyConnect

It seems that there are some traces in the registry left even after uninstalling the program.
I suggest that you follow these steps to delete the registry keys related to Cisco AnyConnect.

Disclaimer: The steps below includes system registry modification. However, serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you follow these steps carefully. For added protection,
back up the registry before you modify it. Then, you can restore the registry if a problem occurs.

Make sure to backup registry first, please refer to this support article:
How to back up the registry in Windows. Please follow the steps below:

1. Press Windows key + R. The run dialog box will open.
2. Type regedit, then press Enter.
3. Browse to the following location: HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installer\Products\
4. Within the Products folder, locate and delete the registry key which contains product information for
   Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client.
   
   ◦Each registry key within Products is an alphanumeric string. Select the first key and look on the right side for ProductName REG_SZ Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client. Go through each key in the Products folder until you find the one for Cisco AnyConnect
   Secure Mobility Client.
5. Close the registry editor.
6. Once done, try to start the installation for Cisco AnyConnect.

Always on VPN with third party firewall (cisco anyconnect)

Anyone deployed Cisco firepower firewall (cisco anyconnect) and microsoft Always On VPN solution ? We currently have direct access. We are thinking of migrating new clients to the Always on VPN solution
without using RRAS.

 

Cisco AnyConnect VPN client and Mouse Without Borders

I have 2 computers both running Cisco AnyConnect VPN client - is there a way to keep Mouse Without Borders alive? It quits as soon as I start a vpn connection on either PC.

Both PCs are on wired Ethernet.
