Windows 10: How to rollback from 1809 to 1803.

Hi. I downloaded w1809 with no option. Can I revert to 1803 please, as my pc has slowed to a stop. My mouse is sluggish, and keyboard will not keep up with me.

1. Basic steps

That was intended to suggest some simple things you could try.

Have you done that?

Have you checked your PCs are approved by your manufacturer(s) for 1809? Some produce lists- others don't.

2. Getting control of updates with Home- when you are in difficulties
If you are happy with 1803 and all works with that, you can block automatic updates completely if you wish

and use e.g.
Windows Update Minitool (free) to check manually.

This can be useful for PCs with Home which have problems.

From your other comments I'm wondering if Windows Update is broken on one or more of your PCs.
Again, try running the Windows Update Troubleshooter.

3. Documentation
My feeling is you're simply frustrated and want to force your PCs to do something.

It is not correct to say there is no documentation. It is true to say that the error messages and extensive logs available are often confusing and unhelpful.

Unfortunately resolving each individual problem may not be easy as there can be many causes.

 

rollback to 1803 or not ?

On last 3 days, I updated my 4 computers from version 1803 to 1809 and everything seems to work normally on all f them and I didn't notice deletion of files or folders. Should I still rollback to 1803, just in case of ???

 

Had to rollback 1809 to 1803

Toshiba Satellite L55W-C5259.

When starting the laptop the spinning dot wheel would micro freezing every 1 sec. This freezing occurred until fully booted (witch took about 5 minutes).

Once booted, the mouse cursor was micro freezing, and within 30 seconds everything was frozen. Even the numlock button was not responding. It was a hard stop. Even after another reboot, I could not get to rollback within Settings>recovery because the system
would be frozen well before getting there. I had to reboot and interrupt the booting a couple times until the troubleshooting screen appeared (system still micro freezing). I used that rollback (hard to find this option in 1809 boot troubleshooter). Anyway,
I am back to 1803 and no more freezing.

Anyone else getting this?
