Windows 10: How to schedule computer to go to sleep mode (not hybernation)

Is there a switch to use in task scheduler to go to sleep at a certain time. Shutdown /h is not what I want to do, i just want to go into the normal sleep mode. The reason I want this is because sometimes my computer doesn't go to sleep and i want to force it to sleep.

My computer stopped sleeping or hybernating from the shutdown

My computer stopped sleeping or hybernating from the shutdown button in Windows 7 and Windows 10. The computer would shut off the display then go to the switch user disply, turing it back on. I tried turning off the LAN adapter by turning off this device
to save power, as suggested. This did not work for me.

I tried another recommendation to turn off the Power Options hybrid sleep mode from the advanced setting menu. This fixed the Sleep mode and allows the computer to shut down, but did not fix the Hybernate mode.

 

Hybernate that turns to sleep

I've configured my laptop to hybernate when I push power button when it's on. So it does. But randomly it turns itself on and goes into sleep mode. I might be out whole day and I don't know for how long it was in the sleep mode (basically on). Why does it decide what to do? It gives a feeling of not being in control of your machine. As if I'm the guest and it is the host. I've some peripherals connected to laptop through USB port and they start working when computer leaves Hybernation mode and into the sleep mode. Even without that, the fact itself is annoying. Quite. Any links where this concern would be better addressed will be much appreciated. Thanks

 

sleep or hibernate

I think you have sleep and hibernate confused... sleep just puts the computer in a low power state, making resuming the session faster... hibernate shuts down the whole computer and basically just saves whats in RAM to the hdd and loads it on next startup. IIRC...
