  1. How to stop the volume control buttons/hotkeys from controlling programs?

I have a Windows 10 laptop with buttons on the keyboard that let me control the volume without having to use the slider on the taskbar. On a few programs I'm using, if I use those buttons it will control other aspects of the program.

    Examples:

Pressing the volume down button in one program causes the program to try to open a multiplayer session while also putting the game into slow-mo mode, usually crashes the program.

Pressing volume up in a different program activates a scope function that can't be turned off unless I restart the game.

Pressing either volume up or down in another different program tries to activate the record function which freezes the program and it ends up crashing.

They do something different in each different program, it isn't isolated to one single program. So I doubt that going to the support for that program will help. This is solely an issue relating to the volume buttons. I don't know what started it but it's been happening for about 6 or so months and I've just about had it. It is very annoying because sometimes there are sudden volume changes and my first move is to use these buttons because they are easier to access. And all I want to do is just change the volume, nothing else. Is there a setting somewhere to where I can disable this and only have the buttons controlling the volume?

    :)
