Windows 10: How to stop windows mail sync gmail social mails?

Hi,

I'm trying to sync my gmail with windows 10 mail so new mails appear in notifications area. I've added my account to sync and mails are coming in but my problem is that it also syncs gmail's social mails. How can i stop social mails from appearing in notification area?

Email accounts not syncing

A few days ago my hotmail (primary) account stopped syncing new emails with my Lumia 822. Old emails would reappear after deleting them, but no new mail. Then today my gmail account stopped displaying any mail. I tried unsyncing and then resyncing the
hotmail account and now no mail shows up. Deleted the gmail account and recreated it and still no mail. My contacts (hotmail and gmail) and calendar appear to be syncing correctly.

How can this be fixed?

UPDATE: The people on the outlook.com forum were able to get my hotmail working again. Not sure what was up with gmail account but it seems to working fine again too.

 

Windows 10 contacts no longer syncing with gmail?

I had windows 10 contacts syncing with gmail. Deleted and reinstalled the account with Mail and contacts not syncing and not appearing. Tested by doing the same with another gmail account which first did sync and then the contacts will not come back after
remaking the gmail account within Mail. How do i get the contacts to come back from gmail to Mail?
