    How to transfer windows 10 activation to new pc


    I want to change my pc. I have upgraded my windows 10 pro from 8.1 Pro. Now I have lost that key. It was a retail key, so windows 10 also showing it is a retail version. I want to buy a new laptop that will contain windows 10 Home edition. I want to make this home to pro from my running windows 10 pro in my old laptop. how can I do that?

    Transferring Windows 10 to New PC Activation

    It depends on how Windows 10 was originally configured on your computer.

    If its a full retail store bought license online or offline, it is transferable to a new computer or motherboard.

    If its the free upgrade from a retail store bought Windows 7 or Windows 8 license, it is transferable to a new computer or motherboard.

    If its the free upgrade from a OEM preinstalled Windows 7 or Windows 8 license, it is NOT transferable to a new computer or motherboard.

    Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK
