Windows 10: How to turn audio on as default in Windows Photos app

Dear friends,I use the built in Windows Photos app for seeing my pics and vids. When I go through the pics and in between is a vid, the vid will play but muted. I have to unmute to hear the audio. You would think this choice is remembered. However, next vid in line again, audio is muted. So I have to repeat this step for every little vid i go through. Obviously this is annoying next to highly inefficient.How can the default behavior, unmuted audio, be accomplished?Windows 11 Pro build. 22000.434Thank you and take care!yveZ

Lost default photo viewer after profile rebuild

Thanks Brink. I've tried those steps before i started searching Google. After the profile rebuild i don't have the Photo app listed to choose to make it default in either the system settings for default apps or the Open With option.

I can't even find it doing a search. Seems to have been removed somehow with the profile rebuild, which doesn't make sense.

Might be helpful to list what i've done I've done the open with check, the choose default program in the system menu, tried that in device manager default programs also. I've checked the programs and features Turn windows features on/off and it's not listed there (never thought it was but that was a suggestion), searched the MS Store, it's not listed there either.

I don't like playing in the registry unless i have defined steps and haven't found anything for this yet, just the Win7 version like in my OP.

Sorry to know that the issue persists. I suggest you to search for it in Search and pin it to Start Menu.

I suggest you to try the steps below and check if it helps.

• Go to search and type Photo Moto app. Right-click on it to pin it to Start menu.
• Go to Search. Type Settings. Click on it open.
• Click on System. Click on Default apps. Then follow the instructions from the link below to set Photo Moto as default app for Photos.

I suggest you to set the photo gallery as default app and check if it helps. You may follow the steps below.

  Go to settings select System.

  Click on default app and select defaults by app.

  Now select Photo gallery as default app.
