Windows 10: How to turn off auto sound leveling?

I like to play games while listening to music, but for some reason, every time that a loud sound is played (gunshot, dialogue, jump, death, etc.) all of my audio is brought to almost zero, then slowly fades back to how I set it.

I'm assuming that this is some sort of sound leveling feature, so that you don't get blasted by unexpected loud noises, but it's really annoying, inconsistent, and incredibly inconvenient.

Does anyone have a fix for this?

Is there a way to always start the computer at the same sounds level

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

I suggest you to follow the Steps below and check if that helps.

• Right click on the Sound icon on the Taskbar.
• Click on Sound and Select Playback tab.
• Right Click on Speakers and Select
  Properties.
• Click on Levels tab and adjust the sound level as per your requirement and click
  OK.
• Restart your computer and check if the sound level remains same.

Good surround sound headset

I know you say you're not that guy, but stepping into the $250+ range really brings a change in build quality that might have you never having to buy another set. Otherwise, getting 6 speakers with decent sound in a headset is hard, and that's what you are asking for, and I have no suggestions, but just a bump up the list. *Stick Out Tongue

That's what the auto setting will do since you're over the 1333 mark it jumps to the next step which isn't listed or officially supported I assume by that ram.

At this point though I would suggest dropping the multi one step or .5 so that we can get something stable and possibly take the heat issue out of the picture for now.
