Windows 10: How to use hardware encryption for dell latitude SED solid state hard drive?

I find aspiron and latitude both use bitlocker

but latitude i configured to use TPM and key when open computer


but managebde status still show software encryption instead of hardware encryption


i did not connect internet and disable all network and blue tooth


Is there any risk that leak data and read by military or physician ?


dell support said bitlocker are no difference in both of them.


if i use dell data security software to use hardware encryption, will it be more secured?


Is dell data security software the only way to use hardware encryption?

Dell Encryption

I recently got a new Dell latitude 7480 with windows 10 pro. it came with the dell encryption app and on start-up, it asks if I want to allow this app to run. Does encrypting my hard drive destabilize windows 10 and/or my hard drive? Years ago, I worked
in corporate and they mandated the encryption of my laptop and from time to time the hard drive would die and I was told that the encryption may have cause this.

 

Samsung, Dell Provide Data Encryption for SSDs

Samsung Electronics on Thursday said it is boosting security on solid-state drives by bundling data encryption software from Wave Systems' Embassy with drives from 64GB to 256GB.

The drives with encryption software will be available from PC makers, Samsung said in a statement. Coinciding with Samsung's announcement, Dell said it would offer the self-encrypting SSDs with its Latitude line of laptops in the upcoming months.

Full-disk encryption is already available for hard drives, but this is the first time it is available for SSDs, Samsung said. The software automatically encrypts information as data is stored on the SSDs. Additionally, the company claims that SSD performance is not affected by encryption because the drive has no moving parts.

Moving windows from a hard drive to a solid state drive

i have windows 10 installed on my 1tb western digital blue hdd right now it. My computer came with windows 10 pre installed and id like to move it from the hard drive it originally came on to a solid state drive i bought recently but from what ive gathered
on apparently for some reason there is no way to just transfer all windows files from my hard drive to my solid state so that i am able to boot windows from my solid state. so from what ive gathered the best way to do this would be to reinstall windows and
choose my solid state as the download location. but i do not have a windows disk as my computer came with windows pre installed so i believe id have to use the windows media creation tool and either burn it to a disk or create a usb. but i do not have a product
key to activate windows after doing so because my windows is from the OEM so im wondering if i will have to activate my windows or will it automatically recognize that my computer has an OEM key attached to it. there is no sticker or card that came with the
computer so i assume the key is attached to my hardware someway or another. so if i use the media creation tool to create a usb for a clean windows 10 install to my solid state will i have to activate windows or will it be automatic and can i keep all my other
files on my hard drive with no problems? this is a very confusing just to get windows from one drive to another, i just want to be able to boot from my solid state, will i have to redownload programs if the are already on my hard drive? i plan to keep the
hard drive for storage and just put a few things including my OS onto the solid state, for reference my hard drive is a 1tb WD blue and my solid state is a crucial mx500 500gb my computer is an hp omen 870-224
