Windows 10: How would you describe this?

Discus and support How would you describe this? in Windows 10 Support to solve the problem; Hi folks, I would like to recommend this in the Feedback App, but I'm not sure how to say it. For lack of words, I have put this together so y'all... Discussion in 'Windows 10 Support' started by Chuck38, Nov 18, 2014.

  1. How would you describe this?

How did you get a single column?

Last time I tried to do that, I ended up playing Start Screen whack-a-mole (just like in W8).
    I eventually gave up.

Is that something that has been fixed in b9879?

    Ah.
I should have read the whole thread before posting. *Redface

All kidding aside > Those that have a Windows phone would understand how easy it could be to arrange tiles. Why they don't carry that over to the full-blown OS is beyond me. I have placed that in one of the popup comments when asked how easy it was moving tiles. I commented in the Feedback app about it also.

To explain it, Chuck > Ability to single stack individual tiles in one column would be my guess.

    APPARENTLY NOT! *Redface

    This is as close as I could get;
(although 'Display' size in PC Settings wouldn't change for me so there was one less thing I was able to try!):

Here's the best alternative I could come up with:

LOL.. Yes, Hippsie, I know how much you luv 'em tiles *Wink - I'm sure they will eventually follow WP8's layout.

I got mine like Edwin's last screenshot.

It's called unbridled arrogance. Of course now, they've managed to even screw that up, by blocking the proper installation of the 3rd party start menu apps, quite possibly the most miserable and cynical act I seen from them since the whole metro fiasco began.

To explain it, Chuck > Ability to single stack individual tiles in one column would be my guess. Thanks, HG! I'll check the Feedback App and see if anyone else has done something like that. *Smile

Thanks to everyone for your help and suggestions!

Don't worry, Rickkins. I don't like the new Start Menu any more than you do. I'll be using the Start Screen as soon as I get to boot to it.

While I'm here > With the last build I was able to use the up arrow key to navigate up along the left side of the menu or the right arrow key to jump right to the tile section to navigate. They don't work with this build unless someone can tell me otherwise. Tab key doesn't do it, which usually jumps to the next field. Now I'm forced to use the stinkin' mouse, which means it's become more touch centric than before.

Now that's what I call unbridled arrogance! *Tongue

Played around with Pokki app. I thought it will replace the existing Windows start menu. It just added another one. *Smile I'll keep it that way for now.

Thought I would have my Start Menu serve a purpose, except I can't scroll horizontally without clicking somewhere! (similar to a post I made about scrolling on active/inactive windows)
