Windows 10: hp 6500a printer

I'm trying to hook up a hp 6500A printer to my hp notebook. I'm getting a window saying it wont hook up unless I have windows 7, I have windows 10. Help

We need few more information.

• Did you do any major changes or any windows update done on the PC?
  
• Did you receive any error message while setting up the printer?
  

We would suggest you to follow the below methods and let us know if that helps you.

Method 1:

If you have any third party Security software installed. You may disable it during the printer setup process to check if that make any difference.

Windows 10 - HP Officejet 6500A wireless printer

I have the same problem with an HP Officejet 6500A wireless printer. It worked fine with my Surface Pro and Windows 8. Since installing Windows 10, the tablet doesn't "see" the printer - i.e. there is no wireless connection. I overcame the problem a
couple of times by turning on and off both the printer and the Surface but that isn't working anymore. Other devices like my ipad work fine. The HP drivers are up to date and I'm at the point of buying a new computing device after wasting countless hours
trying to troubleshoot this problem...
