    see how frustrating that is? even the update troubleshooter won't fix it. It's been going on for weeks.

    Hi have you tried to see if it prints in colour at all.
    Have you also run the HP doctor to see if that can fix the problem

    Well after 2 hours trying all what's in my knowledge, HP Doctor, drivers, uninstalling the Microsoft update etc. I replaced the black cartridge although according the HP estimation it was OK (no warning of low ink) and surprise surprise it's printing black again. So coincidence? Maybe.
    Anyway I don't think I should blame the update here.............or?
    Strange btw that no single HP program detected a empty black cartridge.

    That would of been my next Question have you checked your cartridge.
    It is unusual for HP not to pick it up but sometimes hitches happen.
    Anyway glad you got it sorted
