Windows 10: HP laptop numeric keypad

have new HP laptop, but do not know how to lock the numeric keypad into the number only position. It has the key, but no light and when I push the key it does not lock the keypad into number only. Any suggestions. Has the new optane intel i3 inside system. Thanks

Tell the manufacturers that you want a full keyboard.

Saving space by omitting the numeric keypad is nothing new - I've seen it on laptops a decade old or older. You could get a keyboard "extension" that adds the keypad. It doesn't actually attach, mind you - the sort of thing I'm thinking of is a mini USB
keybpard that just has the numeric keypad on it that you would just place next to the laptop's keyboard.

Another alternative would be to attach a full keyboard to the laptop. Not so practical if you travel with the laptop a lot, but if you keep in mostly in one spot it might work for you.
