Windows 10: Hp Officejet Pro 8600 Premium. Scanner not working.

FWIW, I've never seen the "scanner" listed as a separate device for the 8600 Premium on any of my 3 Windows 7 boxes and I don't see it listed under the Windows 10 devices, either (just the 8600 Printer and the 8600 Fax).

But the scanner worked and works just fine on all of them.
So I don't think it's Win10 quirk or bug.... At least it doesn't seem to be?*Smile

Yes I did. But it did not work.

If you go to the start button that looks like a windows App
Click all Apps then scroll down to the S then scan click on that
You should then find your HP Model listed there.
Mine comes up HP Envy 4504 then Network
You can also right click that to send it to the start tile or click more and put a shortcut on your taskbar
Then next time you want to use it just click it and away you go
Hope that helped you a bit more

Wow that is strange because it should be, never come up against that before,
Did yours come with a disc to put all the software in

 

I downloaded lastest drivers, full version from hp.

What it looks like is the software for the scanner did not get installed it is different to drivers etc.
But as long as you are ok with it and working then hopefully it will be ok

I think you have a different model?

I have the exact same model as the OP (8600 AIO Premium), have had it installed on 3 different systems now (both Win7 and Win10) and NEVER saw the "scanner" listed separately in the Windows Control Panel. But it has always worked just fine, including the scanner.
Having said that, I am on a Dell PC.
