Windows 10: HP Printer 4500 Not Compatible with new HP Laptop w/ Windows 10

Has anyone had this problem? My printer will work but my scanner does not. I reinstalled the drivers, but the scanner still does not work. Any ideas? Thank you in advance! Also, my printer and scanner were last used with Windows 7 until I recently upgraded a little over a year ago.

I have an HP OfficeJet 4500 all in one printer. Since I upgraded to windows 10 my scanner doesn't work. Any suggested fixes?

We appreciate your effort and time spent in resolving the issue with trying to uninstalling/ re-installing the printer and printer drivers.

I suggest you to contact the device manufacturer's website, search for the latest drivers, download them, install in compatibility mode on Windows 10 and check if it helps.

I understand that you have already tried to uninstall and re-install the drivers from Manufacturer's website. Try installing the drivers in compatibility mode and check if it helps.

You can install Windows 7/8/8.1 drivers in compatibility mode if there are no Windows 10 compatible drivers.

Follow the steps to install in Compatibility mode:

• Download the updated driver from the manufacturer’s website.
• Right click the driver installation file and select
  Properties then tap or click the Compatibility tab.
• Place a check in the Run this program in compatibility mode for: box.
  
• Tap the drop down box and select a previous operating system, then tap or click
  OK.
• Try installing the driver and check.

As OEM HP is responsible for the proper operation of the printer/scanner

and their supplied drivers. Check with HP Support, their on-line documentation

and drivers, and ask in their forums. Especially since this may be a setting.
