Windows 10: HP Printer messed up

On my desktop, a medium to high end PC less than a year old, I ran whatever update was available LAST NIGHT (10/4/2019) and now cannot get to print to my HP LaserJet M203dw through either network or USB connection. I have run all the updates and suggestions and hints, but cannot get the printer to work. Windows won't let me remove the device, stating "Driver not available." HP tells me the warrant expired in June 2010, that on a printer that was only manufactured January 2018. I printed without problems from my Asus tablet. Can anyone help, please? It seems others have had the same issue. Did Windows mess up?

What is the difference between step 2 and step 3? I know how to "remove device" in the devices and printers section of control panel. But how do I find and uninstall the drivers? The HP Full Feature Software is not installed, though maybe some registry remnants are messing things up?
