Windows 10: HP Spectre x360 - Auto display rotation doesn't work

Hello,


I have a HP Spectre x360 ae001ng 2-in-1 laptop. Since a couple of days the automatic display rotation doesn’t work anymore, and because of that the keyboard and touchpad don’t turn off when the laptop is used in tablet mode.


I’ve done no Windows or driver updates prior to the problem and all the drivers/bios are up to date.


The solutions I’ve found on the internet didn’t work:

• Change HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\AutoRotation\Enable to 1, will be reset to 0 after every reboot regardless of the user account. (According to Process Monitor csrss.exe is changing the value to 0)
  
• Clean Boot makes no difference
• Reinstalled Intel Integrated Sensor Solution

I don’t think it’s a hardware problem because Sensor applications show the accelerometer and a SimpleOrientationSensor, both work just fine when rotating the display.


I had the same problem a few months ago and it worked again after reinstalling Windows from scratch, but I don’t want to reinstall Windows every few months.

x360 Design and Experience for Maximum Versatility
The HP Spectre x360 is designed with an all CNC aluminum chassis and is 15.9 millimeters in height and weighs 3.3 pounds. The device features polished metal on the sides that is achieved using a single machined cut, giving it a jewelry-like finish in a natural silver color.

With the HP Spectre x360, customers get an ultra-thin PC with additional versatility to experience multiple modes in one device. Users can transition seamlessly from notebook mode for work, stand mode for viewing entertainment, tent mode for touchscreen entertainment, or tablet mode for on the go. Windows Hello not working after fall update on HP Spectre x360

Hi comunity, I recognized that Hello doesn´t work after the fall update Win 10 1709 on a HP Spectre x360. It seems like the IR diodes are not flashing up (like they did before the update).

Is that a known issue?

 

Does HP Spectre x360 support windows hello facial recognition?

Found couple of threads on HP forum, but it isn't extremely clear. I wonder if HP is intentionally not making it clear. Can someone please confirm?
