Windows 10: HP Stream 14 Video Playback Horrible

I've had this laptop for about a year now, it was used when I got it so I did a reset and everything worked perfectly fine for about 8 months, every video that would play in any media player would just have horrible playback, it would be so choppy, forcing me to reinstall Windows, that helped for awhile and now its acting up again. I updated my graphics card and still the same thing its extremely choppy when videos play. I would hate to have to spend another 250-400 for another laptop, but surely this laptop is able to handle playing videos?

• Type Troubleshooting in the search bar on the Control Panel.
• Click on Hardware and devices under Troubleshoot computer problems.
  
• Click on Video playback under Windows.
• Click on Advanced on the Video playback dialog box and click on
  Run as administrator (Enter the credentials if required).
• Click on Next and follow onscreen instruction complete the Video playback troubleshooter.
  

Method 2:


Make sure the system is up to date. Follow the below steps.

• • Open Start menu and type Windows update.
  • Click on Windows update and check whether there are any updates.
    
  • Install if there are any updates in Windows updates.

If the issue still persist, update the graphics driver from the manufacturer website and check if it helps.

Video streaming failed with unsupported video type error

Hi,
I was able to resolve the issue by disabling all hardware enhancements for Conexant Smartaudio HD. Here are the steps I took to resolve it, in case someone else runs into the same frustrating problem as I did: Right click on the speaker icon on the lower right hand corner -> Playback Devices -> Disable all hardware enhancements -> OK -> Reboot. That's it!

 

Cannot stream videos or music on new ver 1709

• Is there an error message when you try to steam a video or music?
