  1. hpbxpsv429.dll access violation in printfilterpipelinesvc.exe

    Hello everyone,

After upgrading to Windows 10 1909, my HP OJ Pro 9010 no longer works. I started ProcessMonitor and then clicked "print test page" a few times to see if I could find any other type of errors. I was able to see that printfilterpipelinesvc.exe was crashing. I installed DebugDiag and was able to acquire a full memory dump of that process. The analysis shows hpbxpsv429.dll access violation.

This printer works correctly from my other computer that is also Windows 10 1909. I am not suspecting a printer issue at this point.

If I use the "Generic / Text only" driver, test page works with USB and network.

If I use the HP generic driver for PS or PCL, only prints garbage output.

If I use the official driver, nothing prints and the process crashes every time.

If I print using the built in PDF printer or the XPS driver; test pages work.

Below are the steps I have done to this point. The printer is both network and USB capable; both options have been tried.

    1. Removed all third-party printer drivers / programs using add / remove programs and `printui /s /t 2'.

    2. Compared permissions on the spool folder and subfolders with another computer.

    3. Performed an SFC scan and dism check-health, both with no integrity violations found.

    4. Tried older model HP drivers; same issue.

    :)

  2. OC30.DLL Access Violation

I have an old software, written in Visual Basic 6.0.

    Some users have upgraded to
    Windows 10.

    After upgrading, the software sometimes
crashes and in the event log I find
a report of access violation in OC30.DLL.

I tried to set the exe compatibility
to Win 7 or Win8 but I did not get
    any results.

Yes, the dll is very old
butlthe error is completely new :-(.

CListCtrl access violation started today after years of use

I have a CListCtrl on a dialog form that has been working in application for ages.

Today I was informed that the application was failing, and subsequently I confirmed the problem on my Windows 10 PC.

Running in Visual Studio 2013 getting following in debug:

    First-chance exception at 0x6f53b100 in DebtMan.exe: 0xC0000005: Access violation writing location 0x0000022d.

Looks like its an access violation in ComCtrl32.dll.

It works fine till 5-20 secs after the List/report is loaded and then the exception is thrown.

    Any suggestions appreciated.

    Thanks

    Arnie
