Windows 10: HP’s new leather Windows 10 laptop tries to reinvent the PCs

The PC is here to stay and HP has just proved it. The company today announced a new Windows 10 laptop that aims to “reinvent the PCs”. While it sounds like a bold statement, the company has indeed unveiled something that looks and works like a laptop but it’s slightly bit unique and somewhat interesting.

In another bold statement, the PC maker HP claims the Spectre Folio “basically has no flaws”

HP Spectre Folio features a magnesium but the exterior is made of leather and the company has managed to improve the battery backup by combining it with a tiny motherboard.

HP Spectre Folio specifications

• It offers up to 18 hours of battery life.
• It comes with 8th Gen Intel Core i7 processor.
• There’s standard 8GB of RAM and 256GB of SSD storage model.
• The HP is using a 13.3-inch FHD display with Intel’s 1W panel is being used to maximize battery life.

The Spectre Folio will be available on the company’s own website and Best Buy. The device with Intel Core i5 will cost you $1,299 and you would need to pay $1,399 to buy the Spectre Folio with Core i7. There’s another variant that comes with LTE connectivity and Core i7 for $1,499.

HP is also planning to unveil 4K display option and it would become available in December.

Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

Installing Windows 10 on New PC?

I'm going to be building a new PC on Christmas and want to install Windows 10 on it. I have Windows 10 on my current PC, which I installed upgrading from 8.1 with the files on a USB. How do I go about installing a clean copy of Windows 10 on this new PC? I think I recall something about installing it once makes Microsoft recognize your hardware, but since this will be a PC I'm not sure what steps I need to take. Do I need to go 8.1 -> 10 or is there a method of going directly to 10?
