    Hyper-V Windows 10, Can't Create or move VM Machine To USB


    I just enabled Hyper-V in the Windows features menu, and restarted. I tried to create a virtual machine and store it in my 6tb USB H drive. It gives me an error saying failed to realize. I then create a virtual machine and used my local C: drive and it works fine. I then tried to move the virtual machine file within Hyper-V Manager to the H drive and it says storage migration failed. I am running the current version of windows and it is up to date. I checked the Event View Log and it says. The description for Event ID 3452 from source Microsoft-Windows-Hyper-V-Worker cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer. I also reinstalled Hyper-V and that did not work.

    The folder where your VM is do you see a .vhd file?

    Ok that's why you can't add it... Virtual Machines are stored in a .vhd or .vhdx file. The xml file is used for the VMs but you also have to have a valid vhd
