    Hyper-V on Windows Home Edition?

In my "Services (Local)", the following are listed:

    Hyper-V Data Exchange Service

    Hyper-V Guest Service Interface

    Hyper-V Guest Shutdown Service

    Hyper-V Heartbeat Service

    Hyper-V Remote Desktop Virtualization Service

    Hyper-V Time Synchronization Service

    Hyper-V VM Session Service

    Hyper-V Volume Shadow Copy Requestor

Since Hyper V isn't supposed to be on Windows 10 Home, I'm wondering what's going on and why it is in my Services. Are there any other services which would appear in Windows 10 Pro, Enterprise or Education that shouldn't appear in Windows 10 Home Services?

    Thanks!

No, Hyper-V is not an emulator, and it doesn't play old games.

Hyper-V is a "Hyper-visor", which means it manages virtual machines. It allows you to create virtual computers in your system that run complete operating systems. It could run DOS, or Linux, or other versions of Windows. Some people have even managed to get OSX working in them. There may be operating system distributions designed for playing old games that run emulators, and these could run in Hyper-V, but that's not specifically what Hyper-V is designed to do.

  7. Thanks everyone I'll give it a test run.

UPDATE - How come it says "Hyper-V Platform", cannot be installed. Virtualisation support is disabled in the firmware.?

    Hyper-V

It means you have virtualization disabled in your bios.
