Windows 10: Hyperlink Not Working In Document, But Copy/Paste Into Browser Does

1 I subscribe automatically to the threads I respond to. Along the top of the webpage click on Settings





then click on My account, General settings





then choose the subscription type that you want





[I think this choice was made for my by default when I joined the forum]

2.1 In my email client [MS Office Outlook], I have set a rule that moves the notification emails [which contain thread titles only not the text of any threads] into a folder of their own so I can browse / search through old emails if I want to copy or refer to anything I have posted before.

2.2 I can also look at this again

click on Try3 / My profile then click on Find latest posts to see text as well. This list has a maximum of ten pages so, after a while, it will only have the most recent items.





3 I sometimes also print webpages to pdf using the built-in MS PDF printer and I keep a shortcut to the page as well. I use IE not Edge so it is then easy for me to move both the PDF and the shortcut into a File explorer folder appropriate to their subject matter.

Whilst it is possible to Export [back up] the whole of the Registry, it is much easier & more relevant to Export [back up] individual Registry keys before & after you work on them.

So I would have Exported the two Registry keys I asked you to check / correct both before and after any changes. I would then have saved both keys to a folder relevant to the subject matter [along with a shortcut to this thread, the MS KB article & the Slipstick article].

I would probably have added .txt to the end of the name for, at least, the before-versions exported keys so that I cannot absent-mindedly run** the .reg file because that would overwrite the Registry keys with the values that they originally had.
Once it is called SomethingOrOther-Before.reg.txt it opens in Notepad so I cannot accidentally restore its values to the Registry.
