Windows 10: hyperlinks in my emails suddenly display as plain text; not active/non clickable

For years, I've sent article & video titles and their corresponding weblinks through my email (AOL / Yahoo)

ANY full URLs that I had saved and then copied and pasted into emails would automatically transform into hyperlinks once sent.

Suddenly, last week, this automatic function quit working. NOW, web links are displayed as plain text even after I send them.

Even links copied/pasted directly from the address bar and sent via email do not transform to hyperlinks.


I have proofed this by sending weblinks to myself via AOL/Yahoo email accounts, and via Firefox, and Microsoft Edge.

I now seem to be forced into enabling only one-link-at-a-time by typing/pasting the name of the article in the top field;

and the corresponding web address in the lower field of the "insert hyperlink box" .

This one-at-a-time hyperlink process is just not acceptable.

I simply want to copy/paste lists of articles / web addresses sent in hyperlink form as it has worked for years.


i.e. (if I send these, below, they all show as plain text; nothing active, nothing clickable)

I need web address links that I send in emails to AUTOMATICALLY transform into hyperlinks.

Also, before, links that I had sent to myself, remained active in my inbox, and in my sent mail as well.

But not now, older emails in my inbox and sent mail (once active) are now plain text. No, blue, no underline, not clickable.

?? Does anyone know how to fix this?? I've been on with AOL tech support for hours; They don't know.

There aren't any settings on the phone to change, as far as whether URLs are plain text or an active hyperlink. I did a bunch of testing with both a Windows Phone 7 and a Windows Phone 8, and I was getting the same results as you, with the URL not being
clickable when manually entered or copied from the browser. This isn't something I've actually noticed before, but seems to be how things work. I did test forwarding an email that had a clickable URL already in the message, and that URL was clickable on
the receiving end.



That being the case, we'll definitely want to get this put in as a suggestion:

Hyperlinks in Windows 10 mail app not working

Hyperlinks in Windows 10 Mail app don't work - even though they work if you open the email in another application.

The two messages that displays in place of the hyperlink are:

Error! Cannot read or display file, and

Error! Hyperlink reference not valid.

Sometimes the link is still clickable and sometimes it is just plain text. When the reference not valid text is displayed, if you compare the hyperlink when opening the email in another application it looks like text has been added so the hyperlink is now
different.

eg: part of the url should be IRN%289842731%29 but in mail app becomes IRN%25289842731%2529

 

Hyperlinks are not active in received email

I'm using SkyDrive on Windows Phone 7. If I share a picture via a link to my wife's outlook.com email address, the link displays as just plain text when she receives the email, it is not a clickable link. She has the Outlook.com app on her Andriod phone.
When viewing the email on her phone using the app or using a web browser on a PC to log into outlook.com, it's the same result. How can I ensure that the links are active when she receives an email from SkyDrive?
