This laptop has worked without any problems since I bought it.When I open Settings to check the activation, it states at the bottom of the window that "Windows isn't activated. Activate windows now."When I click on this line the settings app hangs. It is not using any CPU or other resources.When I open a command prompt to show the product key by entering the following command:"wmic path SoftwareLicensingService get OA3xOriginalProductKey" The command prompt also hangs showing no resource usage.I was able to go into the regedit and display the product key using the path - HKEY_LOCAL_MACHI

Activate Windows Watermark After Recent Update

I bought a brand new HP laptop with Windows 8 installed on it some years ago. Since then, I have updated to Windows 10 and everything has been going fine. But after the recent update (on or around July 13, 2018), I get the "Activate Windows" watermark
every single time I start up my laptop. When I go to Settings to activate it, I'm greeted with the following message:

"We can’t activate Windows on this device as we can’t connect to your organization’s activation server. Make sure you’re connected to your organization’s network and try again. If you continue having problems with activation, contact your organization’s
support person. Error code: 0x8007232B”

It also says that I have the Windows 10 Enterprise edition, but this is my personal laptop, and I have no idea why I would now have Windows 10 Enterprise.

The watermark only goes away after restarting. I'm annoyed because I purchased a laptop with a legitimate copy of Windows, but now after this most recent update I have to start up my computer twice anytime I want the watermark to go away.

How can I activate Windows and make this watermark go away once and for all? TIA

The Windows activation watermark is usually appearing if the activation servers detect that a device is not activated. For further help with activating your copy of Windows 10, visit this
link. If the same issue persists after performing the troubleshooting suggestions on the link, follow these steps:

• Using Cortana, type Notepad and then click on Notepad (Desktop app).
• Type the following commands in Notepad:
  • @Echo off
    
    taskkill /F /IM explorer.exe
    
    explorer.exe
    
    exit
    
    
• 
  Save the file and name it as Activation.bat.
  
• 
  Change the Save as type to All files.
  
• 
  Locate the file, right-click on it and then choose Run as Administrator.
  
• 
  After running the file, restart your computer and then check if the same issue persists.

Activate Windows watermark

I keep getting the Activate Windows watermark. I have done the suggested things such as editing the regedit, creating the removal.bat file, but the watermark keeps returning.

My windows is legit, and I have had it for 3 years now. Can someone please help me?
