I just tried the macros listed in the first three links in Word 2010 ( I am usually weary of macros, but I couldn't see anything overtly malicious in them ), and all three of them worked, so there may be some other kind of error you are facing in your Word ( although I wouldn't know what - sorry).

nb: Just for your information, I tried the macros tied in to just a single Word document rather than as a global template.

• Have you made any changes to the operating system prior to this issue?
• Have you activated System Restore point on your device?
• What are the troubleshooting steps you have performed while trying to resolve this issue?
• What exactly happens when you try to search for the files manually from Search bar?

Step 1: I suggest you to check if the content is hidden on your device.

Windows + E, click on View tab, check mark the
Hidden items

Step 2: I suggest you to run a virus scan to check if it resolves the issue.

In the Windows Explorer Search, will it find a string that is coded as a Macro in a Word Document? This would save me a lot of time.
