Windows 10: I bought headphones, wont connect as playback device

I bought razer kraken bluetooth headphones, they wont connect as a playback device. The connect as an audio device but will not show up as a playback device. I have tried turning both my computer and my headphones off and on, all drivers are installed and up to date and I have successfully connected my phone to both my headphones and computer so its not the bluetooth itself causing the issue.

Playback devices

Before I received the Creators update, plugging my headphones into the front jack socket did not automatically switch the default playback device from speakers to headphones. I had to go to the playback device menu and do this manually. Since the update, plugging in the headphones works exactly as it should but, oddly, the headphones no longer appear as an option in the playback menu. Any suggestion why?
It has also been some considerable time since I was able to access the via hd console. Clicking on VIAAUD in Program Files has no effect whatsoever. Any views on this?

Thank you for your responses but so far none of these suggestions have worked. Again the problem I'm having is that while the device pairs it does not connect. After pairing there should be a playback device listed but it doesn't show. I'm looking for
help getting the playback device to appear. Please assist if you are able. Thank you.

WIN 10 Pro

I am trying to set up some bluetooth Headphones. Already reloaded Bluetooth Drivers, sound drivers etc.

I can connect via blue tooth, and see that they are connected but; They are not listed as a sound/playback device, so I cannot select them for playback (by clicking on the speaker symbol on the desktop)

When I go into the device manager, I see the headphones, but they are listed as "Category Unknown". Windows doesn't know what to do with them

Under Bluetooth devices, they are listed under "Other Devices" PAIRED

When I run the Sound Troubleshooter, it says that the headphone jack is on the front of the computer (it thinks they are unplugged).

Bottom line: How do I get Win 10 to realize that bluetooth headphones should be listed as a playback/sound device?
