Windows 10: I bought Office Home and Student but don't need it. Best buy can not refund.

I bought my dad office home and student but he already has an office subscription. I traveled to Oklahoma for his 92nd birthday to set up his new computer system which I purchase from Best Buy. I was not told when I ordered the computer that I could not return the Office product. Can I get a refund? Purchased on March 18 but computer arrived on the 25th. Thank you, cheryl

Its possible you need to download the software install files from the schools website if you purchased it through the school.

• Please uninstall any Office trial versions on your device before installing Office 365 Education.
• Open the Microsoft Office 365 Web site.
• On the Office in education screen, enter your IT Account NetID, followed by <university email
  address> and click Get Started.
• Select I'm a student on the next page. You will be sent an email with instructions.
• Follow the steps in the email. It is recommended that you use the same password as you use for other
  University services.

 

cancelling Microsoft Office Student and Home

It is a long story. But she knew she couldn’t get a refund so she want to use Microsoft Office student and home for someone else. She felt that the person with the Microsoft Office Student and Home would be able to see her computer.



For example: She changed the wallpaper and it was also changed on the computer with the Microsoft Student and Home.



I think that spooked her. I reformatted computer just in case the problem resurfaced. So now she is afraid someone will accidently installed it.
