  1. I cannot access a drive connected to an Asus router on my new Windows 11 Lenovo

I have several computers in my house running on Windows 10 and Windows 11. All of them, except a newly purchased Lenovo laptop are able to connect to a USB drive attached to my Asus router, via Windows Explorer. I don't get a chance to even log into router.I followed the directions from a previous answer posted here in 2023. I turned on SMB 1.0/CIFS File Sharing Support option and SMB 1.0/CIFS Client option. I rebooted the computer and checked to see that the 2 items were still checked. I'm using the same Windows Firewall that came with Windows 11 on all the computers. I am able to access all

    :)

W10 can connect to wider internet but cannot access web pages

I have an odd issue with my W10 laptop linked to Sky broadband in the UK via wifi using a Sky router. The effect is that while I can actually access the internet (I can send and receive emails using Outlook and can connect to other machines using TeamViewer) I cannot access any web site (Google, BBC etc). There is no specific error message, merely that the access request timed out and a suggestion that it may be to do with proxy. I have tried the following:
    1. Other systems (W10 and ios) can access web sites using the same Sky router (therefore probably not a router problem)
    2. I have sent and received emails using Outlook, so the broadband connection is working (probably not a Sky problem)
    3. I have tried two different browsers (Firefox and Edge), no connection (not a browser problem)
    4. I am using Windows Defender and have:
      1. Made sure that Firefox is in the list of allowed systems in its Firewall, no connection after a reboot
      2. Turned off the Firewall and tried again - no connection
My next step will be to re-install Windows, but has anyone got any other suggestions? Could it be some sort of virus (I have carried out a complete virus check using Defender) So - any suggestions?

Accessing a drive connected to router

I have a hard disk connected to my router's USB port. (I confirmed that the HD is compatible with the router).

My goal is to use this HD as a 'network attached storage' so other computers on the same wireless network can access to HD to add files to it or download anything that's on the drive, like pictures.

I tried several suggested solutions offered on these support pages and nothing worked. I cannot even map the drive to my desktop PC that is connected to the router with a wire.

The weird thing is that the router functions as a DNLA server so my network streamer has access to all the music files on it. The DNLA and SMB are enabled on the router.

When I click Network the HD is not visible. It shows up as a media server, though.

How to install windows 11 on new Lenovo IdeaPad3?

    Hi neven,

Here is solution to install Window 11.

To install Windows 11 on a new Lenovo IdeaPad3, follow these steps:

    1. Check your system requirements: Make sure that your Lenovo IdeaPad3 meets the minimum system requirements for Windows 11. These include a compatible processor, at least 4 GB of RAM, and 64 GB of storage.
    2. Create a backup: Before installing Windows 11, it's important to create a backup of all your important files and data. This can be done using an external hard drive, USB flash drive, or cloud storage.
    3. Download the Windows 11 ISO file: You can download the Windows 11 ISO file from the Microsoft website. Make sure to select the correct version and language for your Lenovo IdeaPad3,
    4. Create a bootable USB drive: Use a tool like Rufus to create a bootable USB drive with the Windows 11 ISO file. Plug in the USB drive to your Lenovo IdeaPad3.
    5. Boot from USB: Turn on your Lenovo IdeaPad3 and press the appropriate key (usually F12 or Del) to access the boot menu. Select the USB drive as the boot device.
    6. Install Windows 11: Follow the on-screen instructions to install Windows 11 on your Lenovo IdeaPad3. You may need to format the hard drive before installing it.
    7. Set up Windows 11: Once Windows 11 is installed, you'll need to go through the setup process. This includes setting up your user account, selecting your preferences, and installing any necessary drivers and updates.
That's it! You should now have Windows 11 installed and running on your Lenovo IdeaPad3.
