    I cannot delete my orphaned account


    I have a Windows Home account. I wanted to create a child account, but instead I changed myself to a child. Now I can't do anything. I can't even delete my child account!!! Please help me! Paul

    People cannot delete their accounts. It would orphan all their threads and posts which would be a bad thing.

    it would break too many threads, if your posts got deleted.


    we can ban your account from posting... but you can do the same thing by just not posting. Why do you want it deleted in the first place?

    How to delete an adult account in the Family Settings.

    Hi,

    To resolve your issue, we suggest that you follow the steps below:

    • As an adult in the family account, sign in with your Microsoft account.
    • Under Your family, click
      Remove      .
    • Click the child account you want to remove, and click Remove.
    • You will get an email confirmation once the child has been removed from the family.
    Note: If you removed a Child account, it will be tagged as an "Orphaned account" and you will need to attach another "Parent account".
