Windows 10: I cannot type on search bar anymore after I changed the language of Windows 10?

I have bought Legion 5 with windows 10 on it. the windows originally was in German, everything was fine. after I have changed the language to English, I can no longer type on search bar.

I also have an error showing:

Something happened, we couldn't install a feature.

If you meant the Cortana search bar, review the suggested solutions on these threads:

Windows 8.1 update changed the language, can't change back

Maybe, these will help... it seems it is a common enough problem.

Language packs are no longer available after you upgrade to Windows 8.1

Change your Windows display language

How do I change the default keyboard from handwriting to typing on Windows 10

• Have you enabled the tablet mode settings on Windows 10?

Step 1: Turn off on screen keyboard

• Open Start menu, type Settings in search bar and click on Settings.
• Click on Ease of access and select keyboard.
• Turn off the on screen keyboard.

Step 2: Turn off tablet mode

I suggest you to turn off tablet mode, as it may also be the cause for the issue.

• Open Start menu, type tablet mode settings in search bar and click on it.
• Turn off the tablet mode option and check if it helps.
