Windows 10: I cannot update windows

I solved this by installing the creators update. I can now update windows without problems and without windows rolling back the updates. I don't get why I would use macrium first, none of my files are gone after installing creators update and my programs and settings are the same as previously.

 

99 times out of 100 that's the case - a system image is your insurance for that 1 time it fails.

 

Well this problem has now come back again after reinstalling windows. Getting the same error message and updates are being rolled back like previously.

 

I installed a fresh copy of windows and i can now update my computer again. It doesnt make any sense, sometimes the updates works, sometimes the updates fails and windows rolls them back, sometimes i can click search for updates 2-3 and windows will says my computer is updated, then on the fourth try, windows says theres updates available.. it makes no sense really.

I can update my computer right now, but im pretty sure windos will create some problems again.

 

This is a log collector that is used in another forum. Please run it and post a zip into this thread for troubleshooting:

Well windows update has been working recently, but the auto install updates feature doesnt work, so i have to run it manually.

I'm not sure what that is or how i use it?

 

See if you can use extract to run the command.
If you are unable to use the beta log collector you may be able to use the DM log collector:

What logs does it collect exactly?

I'm very cautious about my privacy.

 

The log collector collects these logs: msinfo32, dxdiag, mini dumps, hosts, install, uninstall, drivers, event viewer logs, etc. There should be no personal files collected. All files collected should appear on the desktop. Then zip to place into the thread. To see what is in the typical log collector you can open the BSOD forum as all the threads have the logs for troubleshooting.
For the failed Windows upgrade it is likely that Windows 1803 will be released sometime in April 2018. With any new upgrade there are pro and con and getting used to the new changes. You can make the decision on timing on the troubleshooting for the failed upgrade.

If you can read, decode, and interpret the logs then you may be able to perform troubleshooting.
Most people don't have that training or experience and submit computer log files to the volunteers on Ten Forums for the troubleshooting.
The log files appear on the desktop. Then you zip them and post a zip into the thread.
So you get to see what is collected from the computer.
Alternatively you can view the multiple threads in the BSOD forum to see the logs.
There are no guarantees that we can fix the problems but we have to start with pertinent computer files.
